To use your Vanguard 529 plan with Backpack, you’ll need to add your Backpack account as a new bank account in your Vanguard profile.
Do you use a Financial Advisor?
Financial Advisors are familiar with how to add a new bank account (like Backpack's) to investment accounts and will be able to assist with linking your 529 Plan to Backpack.

Steps to add your Backpack account (Desktop Instructions)
Log in to your Vanguard 529 account.
Go to your Profile & Account Settings section.
Under Quick Links select Bank Information
Select Add new Bank Account
Confirm accounts that are eligible for online bank authentication
Select your Bank to Start the Authentication Process by Clicking Link Bank Manually.
Enter your Backpack account details into the "Add Bank Information" section.
Bank Name: [Backpack]
Bank Routing Number: [Your Backpack Routing Number]
Bank Account Number: [Your Backpack Account Number]
Bank Account Registration: [Your Name]
Bank Account Type: Select Checking
Backpack Account & Routing numbers can be found on the Backpack Dashboard or under Settings.
9. After 2-3 days enter the bank deposits from your Backpack account under the Transactions tab to Vanguard.
Withdrawal options in Vanguard:
Once your Backpack account is added, you’ll be able to choose from these 529 withdrawal options:
Send a check to the school
Send a check to yourself
Direct payment to a bank account (choose this to send to Backpack)
Check to the beneficiary
Make sure to select payment to bank account and choose your Backpack account when you're ready to send funds.
