How to Shop Online Using PayPal with Your Backpack Account
Updated over a week ago

Shopping online with your Backpack account is simple and convenient. By adding your Backpack account and routing number as a payment method to your PayPal account, you can make purchases at any store that supports PayPal.

Here's a quick guide on how to get started, starting with first linking your Backpack Account to your PayPal account and then how to checkout at any store that supports PayPal as a payment method and your Backpack account.

Linking your Backpack Account to PayPal

  1. Login to your PayPal account

  2. From the home page, select "Add card or bank"

  3. Then select "Link a bank account"

  4. On the Choose your Bank screen, search for "Backpack". If Backpack doesn't show as an option, you can select "Enter your bank details".

  5. On the Link a US bank account screen, you're going to select "Checking" as your account type and then enter your Backpack routing and account number. Then click "Authorize and Link" to advance.

    1. Note: When you enter your Routing Number, it will register as Old Missouri Bank (OMB). Backpack Payment Technologies, Inc. is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by OMB Bank, Member FDIC.

  6. PayPal will then make a micro-deposit to your Backpack account to confirm. You should receive the deposits in 1-2 days.

  7. When you log into your Backpack Dashboard after 1-2 days, you'll see the two micro-deposits from PayPal.

  8. You'll then log into your PayPal account and click "Confirm bank" from the home screen and then enter the value of the two deposits to confirm your Backpack account. You should receive an email from PayPal confirming Your PayPal account is Verified.

  9. Lastly, you can give your new account a nickname to make it more easily identifiable when checking out and paying with PayPal
