Turning on two-factor authentication improves the security of your Backpack Health account and all the personal information you store with us. It’s an extra layer of security for your account designed to ensure that you're the only person who can access your account, even if someone knows or tries to guess your password.

How it works

With two-factor authentication, your Backpack Health account can only be accessed on devices you trust. When you want to sign in to a new device for the first time, you'll need to provide two pieces of information—your password and the six-digit verification code that's sent via SMS to your phone.

By entering the code, you're verifying that you trust the new device.

Once you’re signed in, you won’t be asked for a verification code on that device again unless you sign out completely, erase the device, or need to change your password for security reasons. When you sign in on the web, you can choose to trust your browser, so you won’t be asked for a verification code the next time you sign in from that computer.

Setting up two-factor authentication

  1. From the main menu, select My Account Settings

  2. Select Two-Factor Authentication

  3. Fill in your country code and phone number to receive a verification code

  4. Enter the verification code to finish 2FA setup

To turn off/disable two factor authentication:

  1. From the main menu, select My Account Settings

  2. Select Two-Factor Authentication

  3. Select Disable Two-Factor Authentication at the bottom of the screen, then Yes, disable.

Changing your mobile phone number

  1. Login to your Backpack and from the main menu, select My Account Settings.

  2. Select Two-Factor Authentication.

  3. Select Disable Two-Factor Authentication, and then Yes, disable.

  4. Re-select Two-Factor Authentication when using a new device and put in the new number you would like to use for authentication.

  5. Enter your new two-factor security code

  6. You’re all set! Your account is now two-factor enabled with your new phone number.
