Hey there! π
Are you looking for information about how to figure out if our ebike motor kits will work with your Cruiser Bike? If so, you are in the right place and we are going to provide you with some important information to consider related to electrifying your bike type! π
Somethings to note specifically about ebike conversions on Cruiser Bikes:
While there is not much to consider here as our motor kits are designed to work with most standard bikes including Cruiser Bikes, we have outlined a few things to be mindful of below:
Many cruiser-style bikes have American-style bottom brackets instead of standard sealed cartridge bottom brackets. If you are looking to install one of our Mid Drive motors, then this is in no way a deal-breaker and, in fact, they are relatively easy to convert however you will need an adapter which we do not sell. These adapters are typically readily available both online and at your local bike shop! We are not able to confirm what adapter you will need for your bike remotely and you will need to confirm that on your end π
Cruiser-style bikes also tend to have chainguards that are built into the frame based on the bike's style and design. If you are looking to install one of our Mid Drive motors then you will need to make sure that this chainguard is removable and not welded or permanently secured onto the bike frame.
Cruiser-style bikes also tend to have unique frame geometries which often lack water bottle mount holes. This can make mounting our batteries difficult and it is often easiest to mount the battery using our rear rack mount option on these style bikes.
