Who this is for: All Barti users who track payments received and cash collected.
Before you start, you'll need:
A Barti account with access to Billing
Steps
Navigate to Billing → Reports.
Select Payment Method from the dropdown in the top-right corner.
Choose your Date Range.
Filter by Location if needed.
Review the breakdown of payments received by payment type (cash, credit card, insurance, etc.).
To export the data, download the report as a CSV.
What you'll see when it works
The report shows total payments received in the selected period, broken down by payment method. All amounts reflect cash collected — not charges billed. The report filters by payment date.
This is the recommended starting point for QuickBooks Online (QBO) reconciliation, since both the Payment Method Report and QBO measure cash collected rather than charges billed.
Troubleshooting
Why doesn't the Payment Method Report match my Standard Report?
These reports measure different things. Payment Method = payments received. Standard Report = charges billed. A charge billed in one period may be paid in a different period, so the totals will differ. This is expected behavior.
Why doesn't the Payment Method Report match QuickBooks Online?
Common reasons include insurance payments categorized differently in QBO (posted to accounts receivable rather than income), sync timing gaps, and refunds or credits handled differently between systems. Start reconciliation from this report, then identify specific line items that don't carry over as expected.
Why does the Payment Method Report differ from the Payment by Staff Report?
Both measure payments, but use slightly different timestamps. Payment Method uses the payment date; Payment by Staff uses the timestamp when a payment is allocated to a specific charge line. Small differences between these two totals are expected.
