Grade settings of the Content Designer activity

How grading works in the Content Designer activity and which settings are available. (Pro only)

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

The Content Designer activity supports grading. The elements question and H5P can contribute to a grade. Most settings follow Moodle’s standard grading options. The grade for each user is displayed in the report.

Available settings

  • Enable grading

When enabled, question and H5P elements in the activity can contribute to a grade.

  • Auto-start attempts

When enabled, attempts start or continue automatically when accessing the activity.
Continuing an attempt is also counted as a new attempt in the report.

The following settings are standard Moodle options. Please refer to the official Moodle documentation for details:

  • Grade

  • Grade category

  • Grade to pass

  • Attempts allowed

  • Grading method

How is the grade calculated?

Only question and H5P elements contribute to the grade. You can also exclude individual elements from contributing.

  • Questions use the mark configured in the question bank.

  • The grade of a H5P equals the total number of correct answers possible. For example, a multiple-choice H5P with three correct answers counts as a maximum mark of three.

Example

You include:

  • one question with a maximum mark of 9

  • one true-or-false H5P (maximum mark of 1)

Then:

  • the question contributes 90% of the grade

  • the H5P contributes 10% of the grade
