I got my EAD/visa! Now what?

When can I move and start work? How will I know what to do in this process?

If you have recently received your EAD, congrats! This means you are one step closer in the process and you are now eligible to work in the United States.

In some cases, you may also receive I-485 approval (your Green Card) first, or your immigrant visa approval, and you will not receive your EAD at all.

What happens now? BDV Solutions has a Client Services Team that will be here to support and guide you throughout the next steps.

  1. Please notify us immediately of your approval. This is important for our records and for our Client Services team to know when to reach out to you.

  2. A Client Services Specialist will then guide you on moving and starting work. Don't worry, the team will provide you with information and tips on your work location, apartments in the area, your job, and more!

  3. You will work with the Client Services Team to set a moving and starting work timeline. It is important that you start work soon after receiving your EAD / visa approval. For EAD, you should start work within 2 months, and for visa approval, you should move to the US within 2 months. See this article and video as a guide.

  4. From there you can start the process of getting a worksite, looking for an apartment, and preparing for your move. Our Client Services Team is here to help you and answer your questions.

  5. Once you move, the Team will help coordinate your orientation and first day working for your employer. There will be plenty of guidance and information along the way, so be sure to frequently check your chats for updates from our team.

The Client Services Team is looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey!
