Should I contact my sponsor employer to start work?

I got my work authorization; now should I reach out to my employer? Should I ever reach out to my employer?

No, please do not contact your sponsor until your date of hire.

The BDV Client Services team will communicate with your sponsor employer for you.
We handle all contact between you and your employer until your hire date.

This process:

  • Keeps everything clear and organized

  • Prevents confusion

  • Protects your job opportunity

BDV works for you and supports your case every step of the way.

Why You Should Not Contact Your Employer Yet

1. Your employer expects to hear from BDV, not you
They are waiting for contact through the BDV process.

2. Work location may change
Some employers have multiple locations.
They may move you to a different site based on staffing needs.
Final decisions are usually made a few weeks before your start date.

3. Do not visit the worksite in person
Local managers usually do not know about your agreement yet.
This can cause confusion and could harm your employment approval.

What about social media?

Please wait until your official start date before contacting your employer or coworkers on social media. Do not reach out using LinkedIn, email, phone, or other social platforms before then. When your start date arrives, BDV will share your supervisor’s contact information. You may connect on social media only if your supervisor contacts you first or permits you.
