When BDV was smaller, we used to connect clients to live together as roommates. However, with BDV's large recent growth, unfortunately, we cannot provide roommate suggestions for you.

Housing is definitely an expensive cost. If you are single and looking to save money, we suggest you either rent a single room or find a roommate to split costs.

Because of legal requirements and privacy protocols, we are unable to exchange BDV clients’ information with other clients for purposes of finding roommates. But finding a roommate will be a good way to save on expenses.

Check out this article for one good option for finding housing.

In addition, you can look at these websites below to find a roommate. Please be sure to proceed with caution on these sites and if you find someone, you should first meet them in a public location:

If you are looking for a location very close to your work, you may also utilize Google Maps, input the address of your work (make sure you have the correct address from Client Services), click the “Nearby” icon, and type “apartments” or “houses for rent.”

Q. What about student housing possibilities?

A. We suggest searching online for the name of your sponsor's city + "international student housing" or even simply "student housing." Options may arise for apartment complexes near local universities that are more flexible. For example:

  • they may be familiar with renting to foreign nationals

  • they may accept applicants without a credit score

  • they might be able to match you with roommates

  • the apartment is more likely to be furnished

  • they might give you pro-rated rent year-long even if roommates move out due to semesters ending, etc.
