Welcome to your first day of work!

Your main point of contact going forward for any questions or concerns will be your sponsor, but BDV is here to help follow-up when necessary.

Here are some helpful questions to ask during your onboarding/orientation.

Most of this information will likely be covered by the person leading your onboarding, but it is important that you know this key information to have a successful working relationship with your sponsor. If there is anything they don’t cover, don’t be shy to ask! These are all normal questions to ask during onboarding.

  • Who is my main supervisor?

  • Who is the Human Resources (HR) contact? How do I reach them (phone, email)?

  • Are there any other key names/contacts I need to be aware of at work?

  • What will my wages be? How can I access my paystubs? How often will I be paid?

  • What shift will I need to work? What will my schedule be?

  • What are the benefits or medical insurance offered here? Do I need to be employed for a certain length of time (3 months? 1 year?) before I am eligible for benefits? How do I sign up?

  • What are the policies for absences and tardies (being late)? Is there a "point system" for absences, policy violations, etc.?

  • Is there an Employee Handbook? How can I access it?
