That depends on your policy.

The first step is to read your booklet.

Some plans end at age of 70 but certain benefits reduce by age 65.

Others extend a portion or all of the benefits for many more years.  It's a good idea to review your policy and find out the age before the benefits decrease, so that you can purchase a policy elsewhere (called conversion) and still receive the same amount of Life Insurance benefits.

If you are not concerned about the deduction but would like to be insured past the expiry of your policy, you should look into other conversion plans prior to your termination date.

For example, Cooperators has a plan called ContinYou, and Greenshield has plans called Prism and SureHealth.
You must convert your policy within 31 days of the termination of your plan in order to avoid any Health Questionnaire, which may result in being declined.

If you are approved, your dependents will automatically be insured under your policy.
