MSPs can invite customers to access their white-labeled BetterTracker portal through My Customers.
When enabled, customer users can log in using Microsoft 365, as long as the email address used for their customer invitation exactly matches their Microsoft 365 work account.
This helps customers access their portal using company-managed Microsoft credentials while keeping authentication secure and familiar.
Summary
Customer users invited by an MSP can log in to their white-labeled portal with Microsoft 365 when their invited email address exactly matches their Microsoft 365 company account.

How Customer Login with Microsoft 365 Works
When an MSP invites a customer user, BetterTracker uses the invited email address to match the customer to their Microsoft 365 account.
For Microsoft 365 login to work:
The customer must be invited by the MSP.
The customer must use the same email address that was invited.
The invited email must exactly match the customerâs Microsoft 365 work account.
The customerâs Microsoft administrator may need to allow access to the app.
If the email addresses do not match, the customer may not be able to log in with Microsoft 365.
Inviting a Customer User
Go to My Customers.
Select the customer account.
Invite the customer user using their company email address.
Confirm that the invited email matches the customerâs Microsoft 365 work email exactly.
Send the invitation.
Customer Login Steps
After the customer receives their invite:
Go to the MSPâs white-labeled BetterTracker portal.
Select Continue with Microsoft 365.
Choose the Microsoft 365 account that matches the invited email address.
Complete the Microsoft sign-in process.
Once verified, the customer will be logged into the white-labeled portal.
Important Email Matching Requirement
The customerâs invited email address must exactly match their Microsoft 365 login email.
For example:
Invited email:
jane@customercompany.comMicrosoft 365 login:
jane@customercompany.com
These would match.
However:
Invited email:
jane.smith@customercompany.comMicrosoft 365 login:
jane@customercompany.com
These would not match.
If the emails do not match, the MSP should update the customer invitation or resend the invite using the correct Microsoft 365 work email.
Microsoft 365 Business Account Requirement
Customer login with Microsoft 365 only supports business or company-managed Microsoft 365 domains.
At this time, BetterTracker does not support personal or public Microsoft email domains, including:
@outlook.com@hotmail.com@live.com@msn.com
Customers must use a company-managed Microsoft 365 work email address, such as:
name@customercompany.comadmin@customerbusiness.com
White-Labeled Portal Access
Customer users will log in through the MSPâs white-labeled portal. The login experience may show the MSPâs branding, but authentication is handled through Microsoft 365 when the customer selects Continue with Microsoft 365.
Troubleshooting
Customer cannot log in with Microsoft 365
Confirm that the invited email address exactly matches the customerâs Microsoft 365 work email.
If the email does not match, update the customer user record or resend the invitation using the correct email address.
Customer sees an admin approval message
If the customer sees a message such as administrator approval required or this app has not been configured, their Microsoft administrator may need to approve access to the BetterTracker app.
The customer should contact their internal Microsoft administrator for approval.
Customer used a personal Microsoft email
Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported for Microsoft 365 login.
Ask the customer to use their company-managed Microsoft 365 work email address.
Customer was invited with the wrong email
If the invitation was sent to the wrong email address, resend the invite using the email address that matches the customerâs Microsoft 365 account.
Customer is not yet approved in BetterTracker
If the customer is a new user and their account is pending approval, they may need to be approved inside BetterTracker before they can access the portal.
Tips
Always invite customers using their Microsoft 365 work email address.
Confirm the customerâs email before sending the invitation.
Ask customers to choose the same Microsoft account that matches their invite.
If Microsoft login fails, verify both the BetterTracker invitation and the customerâs Microsoft admin approval status.
