Connect your wearables directly through the BetterYou app for seamless step tracking and goal progress!

BetterYou now offers direct integration with popular wearable devices, eliminating the need for complex third-party apps or manual syncing. You can connect your Fitbit, Garmin, and other devices directly through the app!

πŸ“± How to Access the Wearables Screen

  1. Open the BetterYou app

  2. Navigate to Account tab (bottom navigation)

  3. Tap Account Settings (gear icon in top right)

  4. Scroll down and tap "Wearables"

Supported Wearable Providers

Apple Watch

  • Description: Connect your Apple Watch account to earn credit for your steps!

  • Integration: Apple Watch should be automatically connected to your Apple Health app, so you just need to make sure we have access to Apple Health from the Apple Health Settings!

  • Data Sync: Automatic step data synchronization

Fitbit

  • Description: Connect your Fitbit account to earn credit for your steps!

  • Integration: Direct OAuth connection through Fitbit's secure authentication

Garmin

  • Description: Connect your Garmin account to earn credit for your steps!

Step 1: Access Wearables Screen

  1. Go to Account β†’ Account Settings β†’ Wearables

  2. You'll see available wearable providers listed

Step 2: Connect Your Device

  1. Tap "Enable" next to your wearable provider (e.g., Fitbit or Garmin)

  2. OAuth Authentication: The app will open your device's browser for secure authentication

  3. Authorize Access: Log in to your wearable account and authorize BetterYou access

  4. Return to App: After authorization, return to the BetterYou app

Step 3: Verify Connection

  • Status Change: The button will change from "Enable" to "Connected"

  • Automatic Sync: Your step data will begin syncing automatically

  • Real-time Updates: Connection status updates in real-time

View Connection Status

  • Connected: Shows "Connected" button in green

  • Disconnected: Shows "Enable" button in red

Disconnect a Device

  1. Tap "Connected" button for the device you want to disconnect

  2. Confirmation Modal: Confirm the disconnection

  3. Status Update: Button returns to "Enable" state

Reconnect a Device

  • Tap "Enable" again to re-establish the connection

  • Follow the same OAuth process as initial connection

Automatic Synchronization

  • Background Sync: Data syncs automatically in the background
