Creating a sleep goal in the BetterYou App is an essential step towards improving your sleep habits and overall well-being. Follow this guide to set up your personalized sleep goal effectively.

Understanding Current Sleep Habits

Setting up a sleep goal helps you establish a consistent sleep routine, improve sleep quality, and enhance daily performance. By following a structured sleep plan, you can ensure better rest and overall health.

How Often Do You Get a Restful Night’s Sleep?

You’ll be asked how often you get a good night's sleep, with options like never, rarely, a few nights a week, most nights, or every night. This helps the app understand your sleep quality and tailor your sleep goals to your habits. As you use the app, it learns your behaviors and adjusts your sleep plan to improve your sleep quality over time.

How Long Does It Usually Take for You to Wind Down at Night?

Specify the amount of time you typically spend relaxing and preparing for sleep each night. BetterYou will send you “Wind Down Nudge” to start your bedtime routine at the right time, ensuring you have enough time to relax and prepare for sleep. This helps create a consistent pre-sleep routine, making it easier to fall asleep and improving the quality of your rest.

When Do You Usually Go to Bed?

Providing your usual bedtime helps us to set up tailored nudges to your sleep goal ensuring you stick to a consistent sleep schedule improving your overall sleep quality.

Setting a Sleep Goal

  1. Follow the prompts to properly set up your sleep goal. You will need to select your wind down time, bedtime, and wake up time. We recommend getting 7.5 - 8.5 hours of sleep per night!

  2. Once you finish setting up your bedtime and wake up time, you will be able to choose if you want to monitor your sleep on the weekends. You will also be able to toggle on and off your bedtime reminders and nudges.


3. Next, you will need to Enable your Apple Health or Google Fit and enable Location Services to allow BetterYou to work in the background.

4. Once you're done, you will see this screen telling you your goal commitment. Press and hold to continue!
