Description

A Non-Disclosure Agreement (confidentiality agreement or confidential disclosure agreement) is a binding contract where all signing parties make a mutual agreement to keep specific information confidential. This can be confidential information regarding employment or service, purchase or sale, invention or patent, etc. NDAs are a crucial, time-heavy and complex responsibility for legal departments. Using an NDA Generator optimizes, digitizes, and governs the process end-to-end.

The NDA Generator application allows you to quickly create non-disclosure agreements and make changes to them. It was developed to simplify the process of NDAs creation as business users regularly have to ask legal departments to make templates or give guidance for tailored or bespoke agreements. This application template will be a great asset for legal firms and departments. It enables them to create NDAs, automate and optimize their processes through an easy-to-use user interface. After the documents are created, they can be generated and sent to the other parties.

Main features

NDA template

The NDA template serves as a carcass for a new non-disclosure agreement so that after you fill in all the customer’s and company’s details they will be generated together in one document. This document is generated by means of the NDA template. You need to come up with the template’s name in order to create it. After it’s been created, you will be able to manage the template’s content: add sections and paragraphs, give them titles and organize their order. Depending on these arrangements, your final version of NDA documents might look different.

New company

Create a company’s record to be reused in your NDAs. When creating a new NDA, you will be able to pick one of your company entities. The values that you fill in will be automatically implemented in your new NDA:

  • Company name

  • Owner

  • Address

  • Postcode

  • City

  • Country

  • Chamber of Commerce ID

  • Choice of Law

Create NDA

The key feature of this application template is creating a ready-to-use non-disclosure document. After you create a new template and company, add the customer’s personal details to be able to assemble a completed NDA document. Here you provide such information:

  • Customer name

  • Customer email

  • Start date

  • End date

  • Template

  • Company

View and edit records

After these three entities (new template, company and NDA) were created, you can always view their details and edit them by pressing the ‘>’ next to each record on the NDA overview, templates and companies pages.

Archive records

This function is useful in case you don’t need some NDAs, company or template records to be displayed on the overview pages, but you don’t want them to be completely deleted. Archive records by pressing the special icon next to each record on the NDA overview, templates and companies pages.

Creating the application

Open My Betty Blocks and see your dashboard with suggested application templates in the ‘Start building’ section. Choose ‘View all templates’, then find the NDA Generator template and click ‘Use template’.

Note: If you want to see the template’s live preview, click on its thumbnail, and in an open window find the ‘Live preview’ button.

The next steps will include coming up with a name for your application and setting a value for the application ID configuration. Find out why you need this setting and how to configure it properly in the Introduction to application templates article.

Using NDA Generator template

Once you’ve created your application and configured the app ID, it’s time to see what we can do applying this template.

Creating user account to log in

The first thing we need to do to start using our template is to create your user’s account. Go to the page builder and choose some of the first pages (My Account, for instance). Then click on the play button to enable compiling.

You will be redirected to the login page. Here you have to choose the option ‘Register new account’.

Fill in the fields with the active user’s date and click on ‘Create account’. Now you will be able to log in using these credentials.

Creating new template

After you’ve logged in, the application will redirect you to the NDA overview page. This is where your NDAs will be stored once they are created, but before we start creating new NDAs, we need to create new NDA template and a company.

Go to the Templates page from the application’s navigation bar. Click on the ‘Create new template’ button and in the pop-up window fill in the name of your first NDA template (for example, “Standard non-disclosure agreement”) and click ‘Submit’.

Note: When you add a new template (as well as company and NDA), it will appear as record within the back office.

Now you can fill in the details of this NDA template. Let’s have a look at the editing page. On top, we have a name (1) we’ve just given and below it, there are two pre-created sections to start with (2). Each of these sections has paragraph content. You can add a new paragraph to each section using the ‘+ Add paragraph’ (4) button and save the progress once you’ve finished (5).

In this tiny menu on the right of each section you will find the next functional elements:

1) ‘Collapse all / Expand all”: enables you to fold and unfold all sections accordingly

2) Up and down arrows let you move the section up or down within a page

3) Bin icon stands for deleting section function

4) Add a new section underneath this one using the ‘+’ icon

5) Enables you to fold and unfold this particular section

Creating new company

In this step, we are going to create a new company. Go to the ‘Company’ page from the navigation bar. Click the ‘Add company’ button and in a pop-up window fill in the company’s information.

Here’s an example how company's information might look like.

Note: ‘Choice of law’ field should be filled with the name of some particular jurisdiction, like ‘State of New York’. Any dispute arising under the contract should be determined in accordance with the law of this jurisdiction.

Creating new NDA

Now it’s time for us to get to creating a new NDA and connect to our newly created template and company.

Return to the NDA overview page and click on the ‘New NDA’ button on the right.

In the pop-up window, you need to fill in the information of the first NDA and assigned it to our existing template (“Standard non-disclosure agreement”) and company (“Fred’s Glasses”). Click the ‘Create’ button.

After the new NDA has been created, you will see its generated version ready to be shared. It contains all the information that we have filled within these three pages: companies, templates and NDA. In the top right corner, you can see the status ‘New’ and a little bit below the pen icon which enables you to edit customer’s information and add more sections to the existing ones.

On the bottom of the document page there are two buttons:

  • ‘Download PDF’: generates a new PDF file of this NDA document (takes up to 15 seconds to generate).

  • ‘Mail NDA’: enables you to send this document to the customer.

When we send the NDA to the customer, its status will be changed from ‘New’ to ‘Sent’ and won’t be able to see the ‘Mail NDA’ function for this document.

Working with profile page

Changing profile details and password

After you’ve logged in, it will be possible to change your user’s details at any time by clicking on ‘My account’ on the navigation bar.

There are two tabs here. Profile details tab (1) is opened by default. Here you can change your first and last name and email address. It’s also possible to set or change the profile image that will be displayed in your application.

After you’ve finished editing your profile details, save changes.

A new tab will open as you click on ‘Update password’ (2). Here you can change your password. Type in your current password and the new one twice. Don’t forget to click ‘Update password’ when you finish.

Note: Toggle visibility by clicking on the eye symbol to be able to see the passwords you’re putting down.

Resetting password

In this section, we will describe actions you should undertake in case you forgot your password. The procedure of resetting passwords within the Login flow application is as simple as possible. First, find the ‘I forgot my password’ option on the login page and click on it.

You’ll see an empty field where you must enter the email address you used to create your account in this application (1). Click ‘Send me a recovery link’ and it will be automatically sent to your email address. All you have to do is open the corresponding email from Betty Blocks and follow the link. The ‘Reset password’ page will open (2). Type in the new password, confirm it, and click ‘Set new password’.

Template stylization

So far you have already discovered how to set up the template and create new ideas and challenges to share with your colleagues. Despite this fact, your application might seem a bit plain. In this case, visual customization is here to help. Let’s go through some ideas on how to make your application look more original and branded.

Replacing logo

To make sure your Login flow application looks in line with your product’s visual design, you might want to apply some changes. First of all, you can add your logo to the header.

Go to the page builder of your application and choose any page (except ‘_ReadMe’). For example, let’s take ‘My Account’ page.

Then click on an empty field of the navigation bar (1). You will notice that it’s a partial that is being reused on other pages as well. Click on ‘Edit partial’ in the menu on the right (2).

Choose the logo media component (1) and replace the initial link with a link to your company’s logo (2).

More information on adding a logo to a page and working with a navigation bar can be found here.

Customization via theme builder

It is also possible to change your page style via the theme builder. You can find it in the tools section.

Here you can pick up the most suitable color scheme for your application.

Also, it’s possible to configure your typography. Choose the fonts for the page titles and body text.

After you’ve finished customizing, don’t forget to click ‘Save and apply’.

Customizing your application could be really fun, whether you already have some references or want to do everything from scratch. Play around with styles and find the one you enjoy. More information about the theme builder is available here.
