Manually Add A Product

Authors and Vendors can manually add products to their inventory without searching for their published works on specific retailers.

Steps:

1. From the author portal, refer to the navigation on the left of your screen. Select “Products” and then in the top right, select “Add Product”.

2. Select the product type, “Book” and then blue “Continue” button.

3. If you are creating a new product with a previous book title, select the name from the drop down list by clicking the arrow. If you are creating a product with a new title, select “Create new book title”.

4. Add Book. It’s important to utilize each area of this page in order to maximize your discoverability to readers.

  1. Fill in the option for Title and include OR create the series name (if applicable).

  2. Include the book synopsis in “Blurb”.

  3. Add the appropriate “Genre” and fill out the section “Tropes”, selecting up to five for each option.

5. Select “Create book title”.

6. In the middle section of the screen, complete the “Details” for the book. Under “Format”, select either “Paperback” or “Hardback”. In the description box, include the size of the book and any special details about the product.

  • For example, “5x8 inches, purple sprayed edges, pink foil lettering, exclusive swag or prints included with purchase”.

7. “Alternate Version Name or Number”: Text entered in this box will create a tag on the book. If your product is a Signing Exclusive or Special Edition, notate this here.

8. The remaining options in the center section of this page include:

  • Inventory” to enter the product SKU and track inventory.

  • Variants” to create variants of a product such as size or color as well as set pricing.

  • Shipping” to enter weight and dimensions for shipping purposes.

9. The right hand side of the “Add Book” page allows you to upload a book cover in the “Media” section. Select “Upload Cover” and find the image to use as the cover photo. This will be the image displayed for the title.

10. In the “Media”, there is an option to upload five additional images. This allows readers to browse any special effects such as foil detailing, sprayed edges or exclusive artwork.

11. Once all applicable sections are complete, you can click the blue “Save” button at the top or bottom of the screen.

12. A “Product updated successfully” message will appear at the top of the page.

13. To view the product in your collection, select the “Products” button from the left screen toolbar.
