What are we talking about?
Part of a pilot project and accessible only by app (which must be properly updated to the latest available version), the virtual stations are areas located close to three high schools where you can pick up and return the electric bicycles with smart locks.
What is the smart lock?
The smart lock is a padlock put on the electric bicycle's cover of the rear wheel and able to communicate with the virtual station. This characteristic allows to pick up and return the ebike with smart lock to the virtual station, in addition to the physical station.
Which bikes have the smart lock and how do I recognize it?
Only the electric bicycles are equipped with smart locks. The one which follows is an example image:
Where are the virtual stations?
There are three virtual stations and they are located in the following streets: via Apulejo (V1 Apulejo - Campania), via Hajech (V2 Hajech) and via della Commenda (V3 Commenda - Berchet).
Once I am near to the virtual station, how can I find the area for picking the bike up or returning it?
As you go closer to the station, you will see three panels that show:
The 'bikeMi' logo and the name of the station;
the icon of an electric bike with an open lock next to it;
the words 'Scarica l'app' (that is to say, 'Download the app').
The yellow lines on the ground circumscribe the area within which to take or return the electric bicycle with smart lock.
