The ebikes with smart lock can be picked up or returned to the virtual stations, in addition to the physical ones, only by using the app (it is not possible to access them through the card). The app must be updated to the latest available version.
Picking up the ebike with smart lock from a virtual station*
Access the app and enable the geolocation
Open the map and find the station of interest
Go closer to the area circumscribed with the yellow lines
Touch the ebike icon
Confirm through the 'select electric bike' button
Select the number of the bike to unlock (the number of the bicycle is on its frame)
Wait for the system to communicate with the bike
The app will confirm to pick up the bike
The smart lock will open automatically
Enjoy the trip.
Return the ebike with smart lock to a virtual station**
Find on the app the virtual station where you want to return the ebike with smart lock
Release the bike in the bikeMi area circumscribed with the yellow lines by selecting 'end trip here'
As displayed on the app, make the smart lock's lever turn until the complete closure
Be sure that the app confirms the end of the trip.
* If present in the stations, the ebikes with smart lock can be picked up also from the physical docks. In this case, it is enough to select the ebike's icon on the app first and then conferm to return it to a virtual station.
** The ebikes with smart lock can be returned also to the physical stations. In this case, the steps to follow are the same when returning an ebike (without smart lock) or a traditional one (https://intercom.help/bikemi-milan/en/articles/5045231-bike-parked-returned). The correct release's verification can be checked only through the app.
