Set Up Your First Product Plan

A product is what you sell. A plan is how you price it (monthly, annual, etc.). Let's create both.

What You'll Learn

  • Create a product in BillPine

  • Create a pricing plan

  • Set trial periods

  • Create plan variants (monthly vs. annual)

Step 1: Create a Product

  1. Go to Product Catalog in the sidebar

  2. Click + New Product

  3. Fill in:

    • Product Name — e.g., "Professional Plan"

    • Description (optional) — What it includes

    • Type — Choose "Service" for SaaS/subscriptions

  4. Click Save

Step 2: Create a Pricing Plan

  1. Click into your new product

  2. Click + Add Plan

  3. Configure:

    • Plan Name — e.g., "Monthly"

    • Price — Amount per billing period

    • Billing Cycle — Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, Custom

    • Trial Period (optional) — Free days before first charge

  4. Click Save

Creating Plan Variants

Want both monthly and annual options? Create multiple plans:

  1. In the same product, click + Add Plan again

  2. Create "Annual" plan with annual billing cycle

  3. Price it as you wish (usually a discount for annual)

Tip: You can add a discount or bundle multiple features in the same plan.

Example Plans

SaaS Product:

  • Starter Plan — $29/month

  • Professional Plan — $99/month

  • Enterprise Plan — Custom price

Course/Training:

  • Monthly Access — $19/month (cancel anytime)

  • Annual Access — $199/year (best value)

  • Lifetime Access — $499 (one-time)

Tips

  • Use clear, simple plan names

  • Trial periods work great for converting free users to paid

  • You can add add-ons or extra charges later
