It is important that if a client is inactive on Careplanner, this is reflected in Birdie as well. This will reduce missed medication and visit alerts. Birdie pulls the status of carers and clients from Careplanner, helping you to reduce these alerts.

How to make a Carer inactive

To ensure Carers are set to 'inactive' in Birdie, their status needs to be changed to an 'Ex-Employee' status.

You can update the carer status here https://{your-org}.care-planner.co.uk/admin/config/careplanner-carers/status/statuses

Top tip: The statuses in green will reflect as 'active' in Birdie, whilst the ones in red will show as 'inactive' on the Birdie agency hub.

How to make a Client inactive

To ensure Clients are set to 'inactive' in Birdie, their status needs to be updated using one of the 'Ex-Client' statuses below.

Please also ensure that your Client is not set as an 'Organisation' in CarePlanner or we will not be able to synchronise their status.

You can update the client status here https://{your-org}.care-planner.co.uk/admin/config/careplanner-clients/status/statuses

In green the status synced to "active" in Birdie, in red the ones synced as "inactive"

Top tip: The statuses in green will reflect as 'active' in Birdie, whilst the ones in red will show as 'inactive' on the Birdie agency hub.

We understand that the 'Ex-client' status may not accurately reflect the Client's situation, which is why we have included multiple options for inactivity on Birdie.
