Please note: The following feature is available for all of Birdie’s packages.

The care circle (Family app) is just one of the many great additional features we have at Birdie. It allows you to see the care that your loved one is receiving and keeps you up to date with any changes no matter how far away you live.

Please note: If you do not see the below features on the family app please get in touch with the agency directly as you may need to review your consent documents. It is not currently possible for family members to sign documents via the app, these will have to be signed via the agency hub. For more information on how to do this please see this article -How to upload documents for e-signature.

Birdie tip: You can add a Care Recipient to their own care circle so that they can view their care notes via the app.

What can I see on the app?

The Birdie Family app provides a read-only view of:

  • Care logs

  • Visit reports

  • Observations including completed tasks & medications

  • Concerns raised

  • Upcoming visits

  • Care plans & Assessments

  • About me information

  • Start Times of Visits for the Next 7 Days (not End Times of Visits)

Please note: Care Management only and integration partners will not have access to the upcoming visit visibility due to the package type.

There is no limit to the number of days you will be able to see, you will be able to read care reports that have been written since the agency started using Birdie.

When you click on the Visits tab on your app, you will see 7 days' worth of rolling visits, including the date, Start time and Care Professional currently allocated. Don’t worry if plans change - this information will update automatically if changes are made to the schedule.

Please note: You will not be able to see the Scheduled End Times of the visit.

What can't I see on the app?

Birdie provides you with all of the above visibility to make you feel as connected to your loved one as possible. The below features are not possible on the app, this is to ensure all communications are transparent and direct with the care agency.

  • You will not be able to communicate with the Care Professionals directly

  • You cannot leave messages on the visits

  • Additional uploaded documents will not be made visible

If you require this information please contact the agency directly.

Please note: The family app automatically prevents access when a Care Recipient is made inactive on Birdie.

How to download the app

The care manager will need to add you to the care circle, please ask them directly to do this for you, members of the Birdie support team cannot add you to a care circle.

You will then be sent an SMS text message asking you to download the app, please follow the below steps.

  • Download the app from the Play Store or App Store

  • Enter your number into the app

  • Wait for a 6-digit code to be sent to you via SMS

  • Enter the 6-digit code into the app

  • Set a 4-digit passcode (you will use this as your password to access the app)

  • Select 'continue'

  • You can now read your loved one's care notes!
