Please note: The following feature is available as part of Birdie’s Starter, Core, Advanced and Plus packages (Also known as Care Management, Rostering & Finance, Premium, Entry and Essentials) Please get in touch if interested in more information on this feature!

We’ve outlined key questions and benefits of billing based on scheduled ‘hours’ of care for relevant customers. Please see a helpful FAQ on this below!

What is hourly billing?

Hourly billing means that your monthly cost for Birdie is derived from the number of hours of care your network schedules. These hours are charged at an agreed hourly rate.

How does it work?

Subscription Fees- These are your fees for using your Birdie Package on the Platform. They are calculated based on Scheduled Hours (as defined in the Terms) and are subject to a Minimum Subscription (as defined in the Terms). Please see the key defined terms repeated below for clarity.

Scheduled Hours- means the total number of hours of visits planned per Care Recipient in your Birdie rota, multiplied by the number of care professionals scheduled to attend (i.e. for a double-up visit, you will be charged for 2 hours), excluding hours that are subsequently cancelled and not charged, or tagged as shadowing, introductions or supervisions.

Minimum Subscription- is the minimum number of Scheduled Hours that you will be charged for each month in your Subscription Fee, regardless of the number of Scheduled Hours you use on the Platform. If the number of Scheduled Hours exceeds the Minimum Subscription, you will also be charged for the number of Scheduled Hours in excess of your Minimum Subscription (the “Variable Hours”). Variable Hours will be charged at the end of each month regardless of the agreed billing frequency for your Subscription Fees.

How will this be invoiced?

As with your current billing, we will agree with you a minimum number of scheduled hours per month for your invoice. We’ll then review the total hours scheduled for care delivery through Birdie each invoice period to calculate any overages above that minimum. Cancelled visits, demo, training and shadowing visits won’t be counted.

What are the benefits of hourly billing?

Hourly billing:

  • Is fair for providers of all sizes - No matter your agency’s size, we’ve designed a model that treats all our partners fairly.

  • Provides transparency into cost - Easily track your billable hours and understand exactly how your invoice is calculated.

  • Is aligned with your growth - Costs stay proportional to your business expenses as you scale and grow.
