Which assets does Blockpit recognize, and why is a Dashboard price missing?

Blockpit detects your assets automatically as soon as you add an exchange, wallet or blockchain integration. You don't need to create them yourself. If an asset or its price is missing in rare cases, this article shows you why and what you can do.

Where does Blockpit get my assets from?

✅ Assets listed on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko

✅ Assets traded on supported exchanges

✅ Assets directly from the blockchain

Blockpit creates new assets in its database automatically during import and, where possible, links them to a price source. Entire NFT collections and the prices of NFTs on EVM chains are also detected automatically.

Which asset classes are supported?

✅ Fiat (EUR, USD …)

✅ Crypto (coins and tokens)

✅ Commodities (gold, silver …)

✅ Derivatives (leverage tokens, tokenized stocks and commodities …)

✅ NFTs

Which asset classes are not supported?

⛔ Traditional, non-tokenized securities (stocks, ETFs, funds, bonds)

ℹ️ Good to know: Only the direct purchase of such securities is excluded. If you trade products based on them via supported futures or derivatives markets, Blockpit can reflect that.

Why can't I find an asset in the selection?

First search for the token contract address: you can enter it directly in the search field of the asset selection.

If you still don't find the asset, send us its short name, full name, contract address and links to the asset in the chat. Until it is added, you can use a generic asset as a placeholder.

Why is price data missing for an asset?

First check whether the asset is fully listed on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko. This is the prerequisite for Blockpit to be able to add further price data.

If it is listed there and the price is still missing in Blockpit, send us the link to the price source in the chat. Our team will then review the asset and its mapping in the database.

Why is the value of some assets not displayed in the Dashboard?

Your tax report is not affected and is still calculated correctly. Only the live price is missing, so the Dashboard cannot show a current portfolio value for this asset.

Live prices are only available if the asset is listed with a daily price on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko, or if Blockpit gets price data directly from the blockchain.

ℹ️ Good to know: If you change the asset value of a transaction, the portfolio value in the Dashboard does not change. This only affects your performance data and the tax report.

Frequently asked questions

Is my tax report correct if no value is shown in the Dashboard?

Yes. The missing live price only affects the display in the Dashboard. The tax report uses the values at the time of your transactions.

Can I record stocks or ETFs in Blockpit?

Traditional, non-tokenized securities cannot be recorded. Tokenized stocks and derivatives based on them via supported markets can.

How long does it take until a reported asset is added?

That depends on the review. Until then, you can keep your data complete with a generic asset.
