Automatic Spam Asset Detection
Blockpit automatically scans newly imported assets for spam indicators (e.g., suspicious naming patterns, promotional URLs, or known fraudulent smart contracts).
You can enable or disable automatic detection in your Settings (gear icon) under Account Settings via the “Auto-Detect Spam Tokens” toggle.
⚠️ Important – Impact on Transactions:
When an asset or transaction is marked as spam, all associated balances, values, and transactions for this asset are excluded across all integrations and moved to the spam folder (soft delete). They will no longer be included in your tax report. Future transactions involving this asset will automatically be filtered as spam.
Manual: Mark Assets as Spam
You can manually flag unwanted scam tokens as spam to keep your holdings list and tax report clean:
Navigate to Holdings on your Dashboard.
Scroll to the affected asset, open the context menu, and select Mark as Spam.
The asset will immediately be moved to the dedicated Spam Assets folder at the bottom of your holdings list. All linked transactions are automatically removed from your active transaction list and moved to the filter View: Deleted / Spam.
⛔ Crypto “Dust” is NOT Spam! (Important Note)
Never confuse small fractional balances (dust) of real cryptocurrencies (e.g., leftover fractions of BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, XLM, or SOL from trades or network fees) with scam/spam tokens!
Why? Marking a genuine asset as spam removes the entire transaction history of that asset across all your wallets and exchanges. This inevitably leads to incorrect balances, missing cost basis, and calculation errors in your tax report.
How to handle genuine dust: Legitimate small inflows that are not scams should instead be categorized as Airdrop or Non-Taxable In.
Restoring Spam Assets (Unmark as Spam)
If you marked an asset as spam by mistake:
In your Holdings, scroll to the bottom and open the Spam Assets folder.
Click Remove from Spam Folder (unmark as spam) on the respective asset.
The asset and all associated transactions will be restored immediately and will once again be included in your balances and tax report.
You can review these transactions at any time in your Transactions list using the filter View: Deleted / Spam.
