On Blossom, you can connect with other investors to grow and share your knowledge while also gaining access to unique portfolio tracking tools and analysis!
We use a third party API provider, Snaptrade, to securely connect your brokerage account to seamlessly allow you to manage and automatically update your portfolio/profile on Blossom.
SnapTrade follows strict procedures and processes to exceed industry standard practices. We make sure data is always secured and encrypted at rest and in transit. Your data is only shared with authorized apps and can be revoked at anytime within the app.
๐ SnapTradeโs Data Security Policies:
User data belongs โจto the user: SnapTrade doesn't touch user data without their permission, which is authenticated only when they log in to their brokerage. Apps using SnapTrade must also agree not to sell or share user data without the users' expressed consent.
Data is secured at rest and in transit: All data shared between SnapTrade and authorized partner apps is secured by TLS and authenticated using a secure cryptographic signature for each request.
Use OAuth-based authentication when available: Where possible, we authenticate using OAuth. However, not all institutions support OAuth access. In these cases, SnapTrade can only facilitate the connection using account credentials.
These are treated with the highest possible sensitivity, and are stored and encrypted with AWS KMS.
How to link your brokerage
Navigate to the Portfolio tab and select the 'bank' icon in the upper right-hand corner. Select 'Add investment/brokerage.'
Select your brokerage. As mentioned, we connect to brokerages via SnapTrade, a Canadian company that specializes in secure connections. Hit continue when Snaptrade's prompt appears.
When you connect, Snaptrade establishes a read-only connection with your brokerage account and the login credentials are never stored.
Once you login to your brokerage, you may see a prompt on your portfolio that says 'portfolio migrating'. Typically, your portfolio should populate within 1 hour, however sometimes it may take up to 24 hours.
