Updated over a week ago

Explore the Giving Page

From the homepage, click on "Give" in the left-hand navigation menu.

Use the search bar Explore Charities to filter charity results:

  • Search over 1.8 million charities

  • Flag your favorite

  • Start a giving campaign

  • Explore different causes to support

  • While searching for a charity, you’ll be able to view all the necessary information, including the name, address, and EIN number.

On the Explore Charities page, you can also view your favorite organizations and discover new charities via personalized recommendations, all based on your giving activity and the causes you selected to support.

By scrolling to the bottom of the Explore page, you’ll find the "Browse by Cause" section. Clicking on a specific cause will take you to a page featuring a variety of organizations that support that cause—helping you find charities you may be interested in donating to.

You can access other causes from the top right corner of this page.

Submitting a One-Time Grant

Making a grant to charity through your BlueGive Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple and tax-efficient way to give. Here’s how the process works:

  1. Navigate to the Give tab. Use the Search Bar, browse Favorites, or Explore new charities within the platform. Once you have selected your desired charity, click on the charity card and select Give, displayed on the top left.

For quick grants, you may also utilize to the "Make a Grant" option in the left-hand menu and enter the charity’s name directly there.

  2. Enter the One-time Gift amount, gift submission date, and enter a Purpose for your grant.

  3. Ensure the gift is NOT used for personal gain, such as:

    • Tuition

    • Membership fees

    • Dues

    • Admission to charitable events

    • Goods bought at auction

    • Organizational pledge

    • Lobbying

    • Political contributions

If you enter any wording that includes restricted language, a red pop-up will appear prompting you to make a change.

  4. Once you click "Complete," you’ll be taken to the "Review and Confirm Your Grant" tab. Check the box to certify that the grant submission complies with the BlueGive Program Guidelines, and select whether you'd like the grant to be sent anonymously.

If you notice that the address listed on the platform is incorrect, simply click “Spot an error? Help us stay up to date” to notify us—this helps prevent the grant from being sent to the wrong address.

An email will automatically populate based upon your selected ESP with a template to share your requested edits to the EIN, Charity Name, Address, or something else.

Scheduled Grants

Setting up Scheduled Grants

  1. Follow the same steps as a one-time grant, however, select Recurring when choosing the frequency of your grant. Add a start date, end date, and frequency for the scheduled grant:

  2. Once you've created your scheduled grants, they will all show up at the top of your transactions list

**Tip: Want a grant to arrive to the charity on the 15th of every month? We suggest submitting the grant to be initiated around the 1st of the month, allowing for processing and sending times (2 weeks for paper check, one week for ACH charities, to be safe).

Editing or Canceling Scheduled Grants

  1. Pull up your transaction list and click Details on the right hand side of the scheduled grant

  2. Click edit in the bottom left corner

  3. From there, edit the field which you are changing or if you're canceling the grant- click End Grant in the bottom left corner

Charity Donation Activity

On the charity detail page, donors can view any family activity on that charity as well as aggregated metrics showing the total YTD and Lifetime grant quantity and dollar amount.

Edit a Charity Image

On the charity detail page, donors can upload any image they desire to represent the charities they care about most. While on the charity detail page, click the Add a Photo button to select and upload an image from your computer, which will lock that image in for the charity only within your login (local to you, not to anyone else).

Accessing Your Grant History

To check your grant status, go to your Home screen and click on "Recent Transactions" in the top left corner under your fund balance. Once clicked, you'll be able to see a full list of all your grants.

From here, you can:

  • View all recently submitted grants along with the status of each grant

    • You can also cancel a grant that has been submitted but not yet processed.

  • Managed Scheduled Grants to edit the grant note or delete the grant

To filter by date, use the "Select Date Range" bar to view the grants within your chosen timeframe.
