Change the Investment Model or Update Cash Allocation

To change the investment model the DAF is invested in, navigate to their DAF > Click the Invest tab > click Reallocate Investments

  1. Use the slider to set a percentage or a dollar amount that you would like to keep as a part of your U.S. Treasuries and Cash Allocation component for the DAF. The cash pool is primarily invested in iShares 0-3 Month Treasury Bond ETF (Ticker: SGOV).

  2. Scroll down to view to select an investment model between the Strategic Stock and Strategic Bond funds, or a blended variation of the two:

  3. Click the View Details link to analyze the Holdings, Performance, Risk Score, Asset Allocation, Expected Return & Volatility of the model.

  4. Check the box for the portfolio you would like to use and click Save Changes

  5. After submitting the reallocation request you will a pending status under the Invest tab:

Reallocations typically take 3-5 business days to complete. Once completed, you will see those changes reflect under the Invest tab.

Rebalancing the portfolio

The value of invested assets can change due to market movement, deposits of additional donated assets, or withdrawals from the account to make a charitable donation or pay appliable fees. As a result, the percentage of the account assets allocated to a certain investment portfolio could deviate from the allocation you had previously selected. BlueGive does not automatically rebalance your account but you can easily update your Cash / Investments allocation to re-align the allocation of account assets to the investment portfolios you selected.

In the example below, you'll notice that the current portfolio allocations do not match the target portfolio. Thus, a rebalance is needed:

  1. Click the Invest tab > click Reallocate Investments

  2. If you're not making any changes and simply want to rebalance to your previous investment allocations > click Save Changes at the bottom

  3. If you want to adjust the investment allocations > make the necessary adjustments as outlined above in this article > click Save Changes.
