Creating Canned Services

How to create canned services within Boatyard

You can efficiently set up canned services in the Boatyard dashboard for easy addition to orders, saving time and ensuring accuracy in service details and pricing.

Please Note: A subscription to Boatyard Parts Inventory Module is required to use canned services. Please contact us at info@boatyard.com if you are interested in adding Parts to your dashboard.


How to Create a Canned Service

First, go to the services tab and click the "Add new service" button.

Choose the service type and give it a name. Select the text type for the service and write a description for the service that will be displayed in the order and sent to the customer.

Next you will add your parts and labor. Include all the parts typically used for the service, such as oil filter, oil, etc., then add labor by setting hours, rate, and title. And then click "Create".


How to Use Canned Services

You can either create a new order using a canned service or add a canned service to an existing order.

Simply select the service when creating or adding an item to an existing order. The parts and labor will be automatically added to the order. You can edit quantities or prices as needed before finalizing the order.
