Creating Storage Locations for your Inventory

In order to keep your inventory organized, you should be adding all of the storage locations inside of Boatyard to reflect the location of the part in your building.

🛠️This should be done before adding your parts inventory into your Boatyard account.

From your Boatyard Dashboard, you'll use the navigation menu to the left to navigate ➡️ Parts and then ➡️ Inventory.

From the inventory page, click on the storage locations button in the top right corner. This will open up a pop-up that allows you to search in your existing storage locations, or add a new storage location.

In the pop-up, you'll type the name of the storage location. Be as specific as possible so that anyone can easily locate a part from your Boatyard inventory and retrieve it.

After naming the location, set the storage type to either stock or reserve.

  1. Stock: Items that are readily available for immediate use or sale.

  2. Reserve: Items that are kept in reserve, often for special use cases or future needs.

🎉After that, hit save and you are done!
