Bola does not currently use a wake word. To start the microphone for charting or dictation, press the mic button in the Bola app. Saying "Bola Stop" to turn the mic off by voice still works.
What is a Wake Word?
A wake word is a spoken word or phrase that turns on the microphone without clicking the mic button, for example "Hey Bola" or "Bola Start." It let clinicians start charting hands-free.
Is the wake word available now?
No. Wake word functionality is not available in Bola at this time, and it is not on the current roadmap. To start charting or dictation, press the mic button.
How do I start the microphone instead?
Press the mic button in the Bola app to turn the microphone on, then chart or dictate as usual. When you are finished, click the mic button again, or say "Bola Stop," to turn it off.
Does "Bola Stop" still work?
Yes. "Bola Stop" turns the microphone off by voice. It is separate from the wake word and continues to work as expected.
