Bonterra Grantmaker fuels nonprofit relationships and enhances decision-making with AI as described below:
Eligibility suggestions
Grantmaker uses AI to automatically parse information in grant details and pre-fill eligibility criteria based, removing administrative burden and freeing up valuable staff time.
Nonprofit matches
Grantmaker uses AI to find nonprofits in the Nonprofit Hub that meet the grant funding goals (as noted in the grant description or eligibility criteria) and will identify those nonprofits as top matches that could be considered for an invitation to apply for a grant.
A nonprofit is considered a “Top Match” if it has the following qualities:
Qualification - the applicant satisfies any essential criteria to apply
Alignment - the applicant's mission is more similar to the grant's description, and/or the applicant satisfies more preferred criteria than the majority of other applicants.
The Grant Admin can review nonprofits and matches without any preconceived bias and decide if they’d like to invite the top matching nonprofits to apply for their grant by sending an email invite directly to the nonprofit. The “Top Match” label remains with the organization as they apply for a grant and as the application is reviewed.
Application evaluation
A more in-depth evaluation using AI will consider the application responses, information sourced from the Nonprofit Hub organization profile, and an organization's profile from Candid/Guidestar. The evaluation includes a high-level summary of the application, highlights, concerns, and an assessment of the applicant's eligibility alignment. The AI evaluation will appear in addition to the application content to provide an at-a-glance view of the applicant and application, without replacing the application itself.
