Published grants are accessible via a direct URL, which is available through the Bonterra Nonprofit Hub. A Nonprofit Hub account is NOT required to view grant details. However, only a verified user who is associated with a verified nonprofit organization can apply for a grant.
The nonprofit will see the eligibility criteria that the Funder provided, along with the grant and application details. The nonprofit will not be prevented from applying for the grant if it does not meet the eligibility criteria.
Within the Nonprofit Hub, nonprofits can view the status of all submitted applications and continue working on any that they have already started.
Nonprofit Hub registration
For nonprofit users who are new to the Bonterra Nonprofit Hub, registration and organization verification must be completed before they can log in and begin an application. This includes creating a user account, connecting to a nonprofit organization, and completing verification, if required.
Organization verification can take up to five business days to complete.
This process helps prevent fraud, confirm organizational legitimacy, and protect funders and nonprofits participating in Bonterra programs.
Verification requires reviewing specific organization and user information needed to confirm identity and authorization. This information is reviewed as part of Bonterra's security and compliance practices and is in alignment with our privacy policy.
Applying for a grant
Nonprofit users can register and start a new grant application or continue one that is in progress.
Verified users will follow a step-by-step workflow in the grant application process, utilizing much of the saved information about their nonprofit, including the organization and the contact applying. They will answer the application questions, attach the requested documents, and submit.
The application will save along the way.
Submitted applications for Grantmaker grants and in-progress applications can be found in the “Bonterra Grantmaker Grants” navigation on the left of the screen.
