Why is an application status submitted vs pending decision?

All users with a login to the Boom Platform will receive an email when applications are submitted. If it is a single applicant, an email will be sent when that applicant submits their application and pays the application fee. If there is more than one applicant, an email will be sent to all users on the Boom Platform account once all applicants submit their applications.

If an application is in the "submitted" application status, that means that there is something outstanding in the application that needs to be completed. It could be a number of different items including the below:

  • Not all applicants submitted their application (if more than one applicant)

  • Identity Verification failed

  • Credit report failed (or not run)

  • Criminal background check failed (or not run)

  • Eviction report failed (or not run)

Once the outstanding item is completed/resolved, the application status will change from "submitted" to "pending decision".

If an application is in a "pending decision" status, that means everything has been completed and the application is ready for a final decision.
