When Should You Split an Application?

You may want to split an application when:

  • An applicant has withdrawn from a group and needs their own standalone application.

  • You need to make a separate leasing decision for one or more individuals on a joint application.

How to Split an Application

Step 1: Go to the Applications page in the Boom Partner Platform and search for the application you want to split.

Step 2: Open the application.

Step 3: Click the three dots (β‹―) in the upper right corner.

Step 4: Select "Split application."

Step 5: Choose the applicant you would like to move to a new application.

Note: At least one applicant must remain on the original application.

Step 6: Click "Continue" to proceed, then click "Split application" to complete the split!

What Happens After You Split an Application?

  • A new application is created for the moved applicant(s) and can be managed independently.

  • The original application remains active with the remaining applicants and retains its existing screening data and status.

  • Screening reports already completed for the moved applicant(s) will carry over β€” they will not need to re-submit their information.

  • Both applications can be reviewed and decisioned independently.
