What Is the Difference Between a Co-Applicant and a Guarantor?
It's important to select the correct role when inviting someone to your application:
Co-applicant — anyone over 18 years old who will be living in the property, such as a roommate, spouse, or partner. Each co-applicant must complete their own application.
Guarantor — a person who will not live in the property but will provide financial support for the lease. Please refer to our help center article about adding a guarantor for more information on that process.
When Can I Add a Co-Applicant?
You can add a co-applicant at two points in the process:
At the start of your application — when you first create your BoomScreen account and begin an application, you will be prompted to add any co-applicants or guarantors before proceeding.
After you have already started your application — you can invite a co-applicant at any time using the "Invite" button on your application screen (see image below).
If you and your co-applicant have already submitted separate applications — please reach out to the property manager, or to support@boompay.app, and request to have your applications merged.
Important Notes
Each co-applicant must complete their own separate BoomScreen application after accepting the invitation.
