Updated over a week ago

Introduction

In the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal, users have the flexibility to create Production Orders either from an existing Sales Order or a new Production Order, enabling seamless integration between sales and production processes. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to create production orders.

Creating Production Orders from Sales Orders

Users can create production orders directly from the sales order page. This method allows for a smooth transition from customer demand to production planning. By leveraging sales order information, users can generate production orders that align with customer requirements and efficiently meet demand.

Creating Production Orders from the Production Orders Tab

The production orders tab provides a dedicated workspace for creating and managing production orders. Users can initiate new production projects by filling out the necessary details, such as the desired output quantities and associated inventory items. This method allows for flexibility and manual control over production order creation.

Features

Defining Inventory Items and Quantities

When creating a production order, users specify the inventory items to be produced and their corresponding quantities. This step is crucial in ensuring accurate planning and resource allocation. By identifying the required inventory items and quantities, users enable the system to generate the necessary work orders and facilitate smooth production execution.

Automatic Generation of Work Orders

Once the production order is created, the system automatically generates work orders based on the specified inventory items and quantities. The system utilizes your existing Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and identifies the sequential steps required to produce the desired output. Work orders are created for each step, ensuring an organized and efficient production workflow.
