Ticket, Pass and Store refunds

Learn how to refund tickets, passes, and store purchases.

Written by Avery Petersen

Refund flows differ by surface. Ticketing supports bulk refunds for an event. Stores supports per-item refunds with service fee handling. Other refund surfaces follow similar patterns but are not covered here.

If you receive an 'Insufficient Funds' error, please try adding funds to your wallet, or reach out to Bound Support for further assistance.

Ticket and Pass Refunds

  1. Go to Events -> Ticketing, then click the Open Box Office button at the start of the event's row. The Box Office opens in a new tab.

  2. Under Recent Orders, click All orders / Ticket Sales. To find a card sale, type the last 4 digits of the buyer's card in Search.

  3. Click the green button next to the order you're refunding. The order's Cart opens.

  4. Click the Refund cart button.

  5. Choose Items or Partial, then check each item to refund, or click Select All.

  6. For each item, choose how the service fee is handled: Fee Not Refunded, [Your school] Covers Fee, Split Refund, or Bound Covers Fee.

  7. Select a Reason for Refund and enter a Description.

    • To refund the payment without taking away the buyer's tickets, check User Keeps Tickets?.

  8. Check the Refund Summary, then click Submit Refund.

Refund an Entire Event

Refund Entire Event refunds every card sale for an event, both online and reader sales.

NOTE: A whole-event refund can't be undone.

  1. Go to Events -> Ticketing, then click the Open Box Office button at the start of the event's row. The Box Office opens in a new tab.

  2. Under Recent Orders, click All orders / Ticket Sales.

  3. Click Refund Entire Event.

  4. Select a Reason.

  5. Under Fees, choose Refund the fees ([Your school] pays the cost) or Refund without fees (taxes are still refunded where they were collected).

  6. To refund one ticket type only, choose it in Ticket type. To refund every ticket type, leave All ticket types selected.

  7. Enter a reason in Why are you refunding this event?, then click Continue.

  8. Type the event name exactly as shown in Event name, then click Continue.

Store Refunds

If the store purchase included activity passes (such as with a Booster Club store), also go to the Box Office for the activity passes, find the customer, and issue a $0.00 refund. This removes the passes from the user's account. Refunding the store purchase alone doesn't deactivate the passes.

  1. Go to Business -> Stores.

  2. Click the green button next to the store.

  3. Click Report.

  4. Click the green button next to the sale you're refunding.

  5. Click Refund.

  6. Choose Items or Partial, then check each item to refund, or click Select All.

  7. For each item, choose how the service fee is handled: Fee Not Refunded, [Your school] Covers Fee, Split Refund, or Bound Covers Fee.

  8. Select a Reason for Refund and enter a Description.

  9. Check the Refund Summary, then click Submit Refund.
