Before You Start
Make sure you have the data you need, formatted properly in an excel/sheets file. Data needs to be formatted as follows:
Example: Soccer: Girls Varsity Fall Schedule:
Type | Date | Time | Level | Home/Host | Opponent | Location |
Game | 06/22/26 | TBD | Varsity | Allison | Blackstone | Allison Stadium |
Scrimmage | 06/22/26 | 11:00 AM | Varsity | Allison | Blackstone | Blackstone Gym |
You need to make sure the data is accurate before importing any schedule data. Bound does not account for or correct minor grammatical and formatting errors. Abbreviations and shorthand are not acceptable; for example, "Junior Varsity" will not translate to "JV."
Import a Schedule into Bound
Review your source file for inaccuracies and formatting issues. Bound will not recognize abbreviations, synonyms, minor typos, etc.
Select the data:
Tip: You can select data without dragging your cursor. Holding Shift, click the first cell in your data series (top left corner) and then the last box (bottom right corner). This can be done on both Windows and Mac.
While the cells are highlighted, hold Ctrl/Cmd and press C. You can also copy the data by right-clicking the selection, then clicking Copy.
Now that your data is copied to your clipboard, while in your school dashboard, navigate to Events > Import Schedule.
Select the School Year and Activity/Sport you're importing the schedule for.
Adjust the Default Game Length (if needed). You can change this at any time later per-event.
Click where it states 'Paste your schedule data here...' Hold Ctrl/Cmd and press V to paste.
After pasting your data in the field, click Continue.
If your data does not match any events or sports, an error message will appear, and you must re-paste your data after double-checking your source excel/sheets file. If the system recognizes your pasted data, your screen will look like this:
Tip: From here, to help with cross-referencing, it helps to have both Bound and your source excel/sheets file open; e.g. Bound on one screen & the data file on another (if you have multiple monitors), or a split view.
Verify everything is accurate, then click Continue to Map Opponents.
Next, you'll verify that opponents were mapped correctly. Please note that the green checkmark does not indicate the opponent was mapped correctly, only that Bound identified a match and auto-populated a school.
Once opponents are verified, click Continue to Map Hosts.
Next, verify the mapping of the Host Schools.
Once you've verified the hosts are mapped accurately, click Continue to Verify Opponents.
Review each opponent.
Next, review the facilities mapping. Again, the green checkmark does not necessarily mean the mapped facility is accurate. Additionally, as in the example below, a row will be highlighted yellow when the system could not pull a facility from your imported schedule data.
Review the facilities one more time, then click Continue to Team Mapping.
In Team Mapping, verify the level, i.e. Varsity or JV, A or B teams. After verifying click Continue to Review Events.
Review and verify each event.
Next, review for duplicates.
A duplicate event will appear like this:
Duplicate events will automatically prevent themselves from carrying over/saving. If an event is improperly flagged as a duplicate and you do not want the event discarded, check Include in Batch Save.
After confirming all the information, click Save Selected Events.
Batch saving may take a few minutes.
Once the Batch Save is at 100 percent, your schedule should be fully imported. It's still a good idea to go and double-check the schedule for each level of the sport you imported.
