Import programs and levels into Bound

How to import program/level data into Bound.

Written by Avery Petersen

Before You Start

Make sure you have the data you need, formatted properly in an excel/sheets file. Properly formatted data looks like this:

Programs / Activities

Gender

Level 1

Level 2

Level 3

Volleyball

F

Varsity

JV

A

Football

M

Varsity

JV

B

Golf

COED

Varsity

JV

C

You need to make sure the data is accurate before importing any schedule data. Bound does not account for or correct minor grammatical and formatting errors.

Import Programs/Levels

  1. Review your source file for inaccuracies and formatting issues. Bound will not recognize abbreviations, synonyms, minor typos, etc.

  2. Select the data:

Tip: You can select data without dragging your cursor. Holding Shift, click the first cell in your data series (top left corner) and then the last box (bottom right corner). This can be done on both Windows and Mac.

  3. While the cells are highlighted, hold Ctrl/Cmd and press C. You can also copy the data by right-clicking the selection, then clicking Copy.

  4. With your data is copied to your clipboard, while in your school dashboard, navigate to Programs > Setup.

  5. In Setup, click Manage Programs > Import Programs & Levels.

  6. Click where it states 'Paste your spreadsheet data here...' Right Click > Click Paste or Hold Ctrl/Cmd and press V to paste.

  7. After pasting the data, click Review Import.

  8. Match each program to a Bound Activity.

  9. Decide whether to keep or delete the existing programs that were not included in your import.

  10. Next, review how the levels matched to existing levels on Bound.

If there are levels that are not in the spreadsheet, you can delete them if there are no competitions tied to the level. If there are competitions preventing deletion, confirm with the School if these teams and events can be deleted.
