Navigate to the Admin side of Bound.
Click Programs
Click on "Program" under the activity OR click on the specific level you wish to build a roster for.
If you clicked on Program, you will need to click into the level or team you are building a roster for by clicking on the green arrow in front of the level.
Click on "Roster" in the gray navigational bar.
Click on "Manage Roster" in the top right hand corner of your screen. Remember that all 'big action' items in Bound will be located here.
If you utilize Athlete Registration click "Manage Athletes".
By clicking Manage Athletes, you will enter into a space where you can select athletes from the current year's registration lists that are detailed on the Programs> Student page.
If you do not utilize Athlete Registration you can use the "Import Roster" feature. Click here to watch a video on this method
[Do not use "Import Roster" feature if you are utilizing Registration as you may pull an athlete forward into an active roster that has not completed the registration process and this opens a liability gap for you as a coach, your AD, and your school.]
Click on "Registration" filter.
Select the registration option you want to use for rostering this team from the drop-down list. This will pull in the list of students that have begun or finalized the Registration process for the current school year for that registration option. It will also display the student's current participation status from the Program> Student page.
The roster status of the athlete will follow the participation status of the athlete from the Programs>Student page. A student must be “Cleared” for participation and “Active” on the Program> Student Page to have their name displayed on the public roster page. If you encounter issues where athletes do not appear on public rosters despite being marked as CLEARED, verify their status under the specific program (e.g., Boys Cross Country, Girls Track) and ensure all registration requirements are correctly documented in Bound.
Understanding the Manage Athletes Page
Athlete - Note - the athlete names that were loaded have been blurred out to protect identity.
Status -
Green CLEARED banner, your activities office has cleared this student athlete for participation and you are cleared to roster this athlete.
Yellow PENDING banner, this athlete has not been cleared and you should not roster this athlete at this point. Please see your AD or office for more clarification if you have any questions. If athletes marked as CLEARED cannot be entered into meets, confirm with the Activities Office that their status is updated in the relevant program and check if their clearance applies to the current meet's requirements.
Registration -
Green FINAL banner, this athlete's family has completed everything required in the registration process by your school.
Red PENDING banner, they have not completed the registration process and should not be rostered at this point.
Optional Filters - These are available for you to simplify the rostering process. For example, this is a Level 4 (Freshman level) team. Click on "All Years" to filter to a specific grade level.
Clicking on "2028 (FR)" will reduce the athletes on the list to only freshman athletes that have registered.
To ADD a Student to the Roster- In front of each athlete's name there is a toggle that you can use to add an athlete to this roster. When you toggle it on, that athlete will appear highlighted in green indicating they have been selected. Continue adding your athletes until your entire list of athletes is selected for this roster.
Scroll to the bottom and click on "Save Athletes" before continuing to add roster attributes.
Adding attributes - roster attributes are listed based on the activity. Items included could be: roster numbers, positions, height, weight, etc.
Note - if this athlete has been rostered in previous years, our system will pull that information forward and you can keep it or edit it based on this year's status.
Click on "Save Athletes" when you have completed entering all of the rostering information.
Removing an Athlete from a Roster - Re-enter this area by clicking on Roster > Manage Roster - Select Manage Athletes > Under Remove click on the toggle next to the athlete(s) you wish to remove. Click on Save Athletes when done. If an athlete does not appear in the Roster list, verify their participation and registration status under the Programs > Student page, as status discrepancies could affect their visibility.
Note - athletes can exist on multiple rosters. For example, if they play on your 9th grade team and your JV team, they can be added to both. You will not need to remove them from one roster to add them to another.
Click on "Roster"
Your current roster will now appear on the screen. These rostered athletes will appear on any digital or printed program for this school year.
NOTE: Bound offers the ability to hide your roster from the public page.
Troubleshooting Steps
Adding Athletes to Meets
Ensure all players are added to the roster before assigning them to meets. Without this, meet entries cannot be completed.
School Name Issues
Double-check state and spelling when adding schools or teams to avoid missing names due to discrepancies.
Eligibility Troubleshooting
Athletes need to have a CLEARED status under the relevant program for meet eligibility; confirm this with the Activities Office.
Missing Athletes in Meet Entries
Verify that athletes are activated or cleared under the team's roster management page to ensure visibility in meet entries.
