Connecting your Stripe S700/S710 Reader

This article gives step by step instruction on how to connect your Stripe S700 or S710 POS reader to your Admin Site for use with the Bound Gate and Payment App

Preparing the reader for connection (S700 and S710)

If your reader is brand new or has been reset, the reader should walk you through the process of preparing the reader and will generate a pairing code for you. If this is the case you can jump to the section to set up your reader by clicking on the link below.

If you are seeing a blue screen that just says the word Bound, or you need to re-pair your reader continue below to see how to have the reader create a pairing code to tie the device to the Bound system.

  1. Click on the Blue Setting Bar
    If you do not see the Blue Settings Bar on your S700 screen, then swipe across the screen from the left side of the device.

    If the gate app is already on your reader, but you need to repair your reader for some reason simply click on the gear icon on the top right of the screen to get to the settings area.

  2. Enter the PIN 0-7-1-3-9.

  3. Select "generate pairing code".

Connecting an S700/S710 reader to Bound

Follow this process to add your S700/S710 reader to your schools Admin Site and begin using the Bound Gate and Payment App.

  1. On your school's Bound Admin site, click on the business icon "$" in the primary taskbar.


  2. Click on the word "Stripe" under the business area in the secondary taskbar.


  3. Click on the "lightning bolt" icon in front of the Stripe account named Bound Stripe Account (Connected) to enter the reader management area:

  4. Make sure your reader is turned on, with a good charge and then follow the instructions on the display until the reader shows a three word pairing/registration code separated by hyphens. IE: one - two - three

  5. Once on the Stripe Reader page of your Bound Admin site click on the "Manage Terminal Button" in the top right corner and then select "Add Reader" in the drop down.

At this point the instructions change slightly depending on the type of reader you have and if you are wanting to utilize cellular data or not. If you do not know the type of reader t you have, simply flip it over. The model (S700 or S710) is listed under the serial number. S710's also say "Cellular" on the back.


Connecting an S700

  1. Type in a unique name for your reader.
    Include your school name, state and a number or other identifier for the reader. (Example: Allison IA S700-1).

  2. Make sure to select the correct location! For an S700 select the location that ends in the words "S700 Gate App". If you do not see that location please contact Bound Support by using the Green Chat Button.

  3. Enter the three word pairing/registration code that is displayed on the reader and hit save.


    After this step is completed, the Bound Gate and Payments app should automatically load on your S700. If there is an update available it will automatically complete at this time.

Connecting an S710 to WiFi only

  1. Type in a unique name for your reader.
    Include your school name, state and a number or other identifier for the reader. (Example: Allison IA S710-1).

  2. Make sure to select the correct location! For an S710 that does not need cellular select the location that starts with "WiFi Only". If you do not see that location please contact Bound Support by using the Green Chat Button.

  3. Enter the three word pairing/registration code that is displayed on the reader and hit save.

    After this step is completed, the Bound Gate and Payments app should automatically load on your S710. If there is an update available it will automatically complete at this time.

Connecting to an S710 Cellular Location

Warning: Cellular location fee — $10.00/reader/month

Any reader attached to a Cellular location (names beginning with "Cellular") will incur a $10.00 monthly charge per reader. The full $10.00 fee is charged regardless of how long the reader is connected — even a single day on the Cellular location results in the charge.

There is no extra charge for readers attached to S700 locations or WiFi only S710 locations.

  1. Type in a unique name for your reader.
    Include your school name, state and a number or other identifier for the reader. (Example: Allison IA S710-1).

  2. Make sure to select the correct location! For an S710 that you need to use cellular data on, make sure to select the location that begins with "Cellular". Please see the warning above about the fee related to connecting a reader to a cellular location.

  3. Enter the three word pairing/registration code that is displayed on the reader and hit save.

    After this step is completed, the Bound Gate and Payments app should automatically load on your S710. If there is an update available it will automatically complete at this time.
