Pass Setups
The Passes area is separate from the Ticket Setup area, which keeps pass setups easy to find and makes it quicker to reach the box office for pass events. Setting up a pass shares some steps with a regular ticket setup but differs in a few key ways, covered below.
Go to Events -> Ticketing.
Click the Passes button.
To create a pass, click Manage Passes at the top right of the screen and select Add Pass Setup.
Details
Keep Setup Type set to Activity Pass.
Setup Name should match the intent of the setup. If you plan to keep all of your passes for the year under one setup and event, a name like "2026-27 Activity Passes" works well.
School Year should be set to the year the setup is good for.
Description appears on the checkout page. For passes this is often more useful than on a regular ticket setup, since it lets you describe each pass type to the purchaser.
Disclaimer also appears on the checkout page. It's optional and gives you space for additional warnings or important information.
When these are complete, click Continue.
Configure
Ticket Technology is either a scannable QR Code or a Tap Button that appears on the ticket. For help choosing, see Which Ticketing Setup Is Right for My School?
Stripe Account is pre-set to the Bound Stripe Account.
Payee selects which payee in the system receives the money from this setup's events.
Upcharge Processing Fee is on by default. Left on, the site fee is passed to the purchaser: a $5.00 ticket costs the purchaser $5.90, and the school is paid $5.00. Turned off, the fee is deducted from the ticket price: a $5.00 ticket costs the purchaser $5.00, and the school is paid $4.10.
Set Accepted Passes Manually, when on, requires a school admin to choose which passes each event accepts, either from the bulk page or in the event settings. When off, passes are good for any ticketed event for the school.
Additional Settings
These settings apply only in specific situations and usually don't need to be adjusted.
Gate Checkout Receipt is on by default. It shows name and email fields in the checkout area of the admin web box office. The fields are optional and exist for when someone at the gate wants a receipt.
Useable Across Districts applies only to schools that live under a district with multiple schools. It applies most often to pass setups.
Allow Complimentary Tickets, when on, adds a button to the admin box office checkout for sending complimentary tickets.
Options
The Options area allows for a wide range of pass types. Several examples follow.
Year Long Pass
A Year Long pass is good for the entire year.
Option Name: give the option a descriptive name.
Pass Type: select Year Long.
Passes per Purchase: Single (1 pass).
Fee: the price you charge for the pass.
Available Online: turn on for sales on the web and in the Bound App.
Button and Activated Colors: adjust if you want different colors, and use the preview to check the result.
Click Add Option when done.
Season Pass
A Season pass uses the same settings as a Year Long pass, with one change. For Pass Type, select Season, then enter the season's date range. For a football pass, for example, you might set 09/01/2026 to 11/01/2026.
Family Activity Pass
A Family Activity pass uses the same settings as a Year Long pass, with these changes:
Passes per Purchase: select Multi.
Multi Mode: choose Fixed or Flexible.
Fixed gives purchasers a set number of passes. If you enter 4, each purchaser receives 4 passes with no option to change.
Flexible lets purchasers choose how many passes they receive, up to the number you enter. If you enter 6, a purchaser can select any number up to 6 at checkout. You might note in the description that buyers should select only the number of passes for their immediate household, so a family of four would select 4.
Punch Pass
A Punch pass uses the same settings as a Year Long pass, with these changes:
Pass Type: select Punch Pass.
Number of Punches: set how many punches the pass includes.
When you finish adding pass options, click Continue.
Review and Save lets you look over your option details and pricing. When done, click Create Setup.
Creating the Pass Box Office
Once the setup is complete, go to the Passes tab, find your pass setup, and click Create Box Office on the right.
This creates a non-competition event for your passes to live in. Enter the following:
Title: give it a meaningful title, since this is what purchasers see when they search for passes in the Bound App and on your Bound page. Including the school year is recommended so you can verify at the gate that a pass is for the correct year.
Category: Scheduled Event.
Status: Active.
Date: for most passes, span the range from the start of the school year to your last event. A common setup is Start Date 08/01/2026, End Date 07/31/2027, Start Time 12:00 AM, End Time 12:00 AM.
Location: a location is required. Your main school location usually works.
Public Visibility: must be on for passes to sell on the web and in the Bound App.
When done, click Save.
After saving, you're taken into the Ticketing Settings for the event you just created, with the pass setup already attached in the Ticket Setup dropdown.
For details on those settings, see Advanced Event Ticket Settings.
