Complete Production Orders

How to Manage and Close Production Orders in BRAINR This guide explains how to add activities, close documents, complete stop records, review quality, finish orders, and clone them for reuse.

Before you start

  • Clone works only on orders in Completed state.

  • Activities: Can only be added when order is Completed or Finished status.

  • Finishing requires: All documents closed, stop records complete (with reason and end date), and required movements (Production, Raw Materials, By-products) registered per the Production Version.


Add activities

Activities track what work happened during production. Available only when order status is Completed or Finished.

  1. Open a Production Order (must be Completed/Finished) and switch to the Activities tab.

  1. Click the + Add Activities button.

  1. Enter values in the required fields manually, or use the system's suggested values (they appear automatically for quick entry).

  2. Click Save to record it, or Cancel to discard changes.


Close open documents

To close a production order, you must ensure that all associated documents are closed. Check for open documents in the production order details.

To close production documents

  1. On the web homepage, go to the Production Orders group.

  2. Open the Open Production Order Movements module.

  1. To close a document, open it for review or select Finish from the three-dot menu.


Manually Recording and Editing Stops in a Production Order

Access the Stop Recording Page

You can open the manual stop recording page in two ways:

  • From the Production Order details:

    1. In the Production Orders module, locate the relevant Production Order and click the three‑dot menu and select Details.

    1. Go to the Downtime tab and click the button Register Stop.

  • From the Production Orders list:

    1. In the Production Orders module, locate the relevant Production Order.

    1. Click the three‑dot menu and Log Downtime.

Enter Stop Details

You’ll be redirected to the manual stop registration page for the selected Production Order.

  • General Reason and details:

    • Select the Reason, Start Date, Type, and either Duration (in minutes) or End Date for the stop.

    • Select the Work Centers affected by the stop.

  • Different reasons per Work Center:

    • By default, all selected Work Centers use the general Reason you define.

    • To set a specific reason for a single Work Center, open the three‑dot menu for that Work Center and choose Edit.

    • A modal opens where you can specify the Reason, Equipment, Type, and either Duration (in minutes) or End Date for the stop.

    • If you only customize one Work Center, all others will keep the general Reason.

Save the Stop

  • After filling in all required fields, click Save to record the stop.

  • You can review all recorded stops in the Stops tab within the PO details page.

Edit Recorded Stops

  • Navigate to the Stops tab in the Production Order details page.

  • Locate the stop you want to change, open the three‑dot menu, and select Edit.

  • You can update details such as the Reason, Type, Dates, Duration, or Work Centers linked to the stop.

  • Save your changes to update the record.


Finishing and Completing a Production Order

Make sure all related documents are closed before you try to finish the order. Otherwise, the order cannot be Finished.

Finishing the Order

  1. From the dashboard

    • On the Production Order row, click the three‑dot menu and select Finish.

  2. From the order details

    • In the top-right corner, click Finish.

After Finishing

Once the order is finished, the following actions become available:

  • Details: View complete order information.

  • Edit: Modify permitted fields in the order.

  • Complete: Move the order to the Completed state.

  • Close: Definitively close the order and move it to History.

  • Quality Control: Register quality control data.

  • Quality Summary: Review all recorded quality control results.

  • Integration: Access integration-related actions.

  • Add Note: Add notes to the order.

Finalizing the Order

  • Move the order to History

    • This can be done either from the dashboard (via the three‑dot menu) or directly from the order details page.


Viewing Quality Summary for a Production Order

Access the Quality Summary in two ways:

  1. From the dashboard

    • On the Production Order row, click the three-dot menu and select Quality Summary.

  2. From the order details

    • In the top-right corner, click Quality Summary.

Review the Summary

The page displays all quality controls performed for the order, including:

  • Section and Production Line: Specific production area.

  • Material and Code: Controlled material/product details.

  • Parameters: Evaluated criteria.

  • Work Center and Production Batch: Location and batch info.

  • Operator: Person who performed the control.

  • Value: Control result.

Generate Report

Click the Reports button in the top-right corner to download a PDF report of the summary.


Cloning a Production Order

You can clone a Completed order in two ways:

  1. From the dashboard

    • On the Production Order row, click the three-dot menu and select Clone Production Order.

  1. From the order details

    • In the top-right corner, click Clone Production Order.

Clone the Order

The form auto-fills with the original order data. Review and adjust fields as needed.

Note: The quantity to produce automatically calculates as the difference between planned quantity and already-produced quantity.

Click Save to create the new order or Cancel to discard.
