Create and configure material attributes in BRAINR to customize materials for different contexts.• Set attributes that apply generically to the material in all contexts. • Create partner/location-specific attributes to meet specific requirements.
What Are Material Attributes?
Material attributes are specific characteristics that can be associated with a material in BRAINR, such as technical specifications, quality parameters, or logistics classifications. These attributes can be applied generically, valid for all contexts of the material, or configured specifically for certain Partners and Locations. This flexibility allows for detailed customization of the material to meet specific customer or supplier requirements, optimizing the management of production and logistics processes. Examples of material attributes include:
Technical Specifications:
Maximum pressure supported by equipment (e.g., "Pressure gauge: 0-25 BAR").
Temperature tolerance of a chemical product.
Quality Parameters:
Instructions for storing fresh products (e.g., "Store between 0°C and 4°C").
Usage guidelines (e.g., "Cook thoroughly before consumption").
Logistics Classifications:
Type of packaging or container associated with the product.
Traceability information for suppliers.
Specific Attributes for Partners or Addresses:
Custom requirements, such as supplier-specific technical data sheets.
Information exclusive to a specific customer (e.g., shipping or handling guidelines).
On the Homepage, navigate to the "Attributes" module in the Materials section. Alternatively, access the Attributes tab by editing the material directly.
The module displays all existing attributes, categorized by partner type and address. To add a new one, click "Create Attribute" in the upper-right corner.
To create a new attribute for a material, fill in the following fields:
Product: Select the material to which the attribute will be associated.
Attribute Type, Code, and Name: Define the attribute type and details. Attribute type configuration is done in the back office under Attribute Types in the Materials group.
Optionally, associate a partner and a specific address, if necessary.
After filling in the main information, click“Add Value” to define the attribute values.
In the Attribute Values window, select:
Attribute Type: Choose the corresponding type.
Attribute Value: Enter the specific value.
After filling in the details, click Save to confirm.
You can continue to add more values, edit, or remove values in the row using the three dots next to each entry. When finished, click“Save” in the bottom-right corner to confirm the attribute definition. To cancel, click“Cancel.”
