Markup your PDF files right in BrandKeep

Updated over a year ago

PDF files that you've added to BrandKeep can be marked-up and annotated right on the site. Annotating a PDF in BrandKeep allows you to perform all the usual markup options such as comments, arrows, highlights, text-boxes, drawings, etc., and you can even add a signature. And, upon saving the PDF, you can choose whether you would like to overwrite the existing PDF or save your changes as a copy.

Annotating PDFs in BrandKeep allows your whole team to see any markups made, and who made them.

How to annotate a PDF in BrandKeep

To annotate a PDF, first open the PDF in the viewer, and then click on 'Edit' in the top right corner.

Clicking on 'Edit' will open the edit toolbar options on the PDF viewer. Now you can use any of the tools to markup your PDF.

Once you've completed your annotations, click the save button in the top right of the page. If you do not want to save your changes, click on 'Exit'.

When you save your PDF you'll be presented with two options to choose from:

  • Over-write existing PDF

    • This will keep retain the annotations on the PDF you've edited in BrandKeep.

    • A PDF that has been edited and saved will be identified on the assets page with an "i" icon. Hovering over that icon will display the users who have made the modifications and the dates.

  • Save as a Copy - This will create a copy of the PDF and be added to your assets with all of the same permissions.

    • FYI - You can edit the name of your copy when saving.
