What does ticking 'ignore working pattern' do?

If you have people who don't work the usual Monday to Friday 9-5 we suggest that you tick 'ignore working pattern'.

This is a setting that disregards the working pattern and they will be prompted to manually enter in the request how many days/hours will be deducted from their holiday allowance. This will then be sent to their approver as usual to be checked and approved.

Why is this needed?

Breathe uses the working pattern as a reference to see when someone is working to make the correct deductions for leave and sickness.

Please note, this is in relation to the working pattern. The 'ignore working pattern' feature currently only applies to leave and not sickness.

As a persons hours may vary week to week they will need to have a figure entered into the working pattern to make a deduction. Our advice is to enter a figure into each day of the week Monday to Sunday so Breathe has this a reference. Now when 'Ignore working pattern' is ticked Breathe lets the person book leave and tell the system how many days they will actually be taking within the leave period. Fear not, this will still be checked by the holiday approver who has the ability to edit any incorrect information.

Also when ticking 'ignore working pattern' this allows employees to book holiday in multiples of 15 minutes. if they have their leave allowance in hours.

You can find this box under the employee profile > more > working pattern & holiday allowance

Scroll down to 'ignore working pattern' > tick the box > click 'save':

They will then see the following box when booking leave, this is where the actual amount of leave that is to be deducted will be added according to their working pattern of the week the leave is relevant to.

And that's it. You're all set and ready to go.
