Welcome to BRICKS. This tutorial covers the second step of the basic operating system: installing the BRICKS Launcher. By completing the three steps in this chapter (as shown in the image below), you can easily learn the basic installation and setup of the BRICKS cloud smart display.
π Estimated time to complete this tutorial: 3 to 5 minutes
Step 1: Download the BRICKS Launcher
After successfully registering and logging into the BRICKS Controller, you will see the default initial workspace. First, select the [DEVICE] tab at the top, then click [Get App] in the lower-left corner.
Open the BRICKS Controller on your computer and click "Get App." A complete list of links will appear in the interface. Please select the appropriate platform link based on the display device you have, such as a smartphone, tablet, or smart TV, to download and install the Launcher on your test device.
*After installation, please make sure your device is connected to the internet. A stable connection is required to complete the subsequent binding process.
If you encounter any issues with the installation of the display device, please refer to section 1.2.1 for explanations on the installation status of various Launchers.
Step 2: "Allow BRICKS Launcher to Access Device Data"
Install BRICKS Launcher on the display device. After the installation is complete, open BRICKS Launcher on the display device.
When an Android device is turned on for the first time, a permission prompt will appear asking to allow the app to access photos, media, and files on the device. You need to tap [Allow] to enable displaying various types of multimedia content in the BRICKS Controller.
Step 3: "Device Login to BRICKS Account - Sync BRICKS Controller"
After allowing media access, a message will appear indicating that the device must be connected to the internet to log in. There are several ways to log in to your BRICKS account:
Scan the QR Code with your phone
A QR code will appear on the screen. Use your phone to scan the QR code and log in with the BRICKS account you registered in the previous section. Once logged in successfully, the BRICKS Controller in the cloud will be able to locate this display device.
Enter the Passcode in the BRICKS Controller
In the BRICKS Controller, switch to the DEVICE tab and click the [Bind Device] button at the bottom left to open the passcode entry interface.
Enter the Passcode displayed on the device into the Passcode field to complete the binding.
Directly log in with your account and password
If the display device allows convenient input of the account and password, you can also directly click the [Use authorize in this device] button below to log in.
If your display device is an Apple iOS system, you can click [Login] to sign in to your BRICKS account.
Step 4: Confirm that the BRICKS Controller has connected to the display device
After successfully logging into your account on the display device, you will see the message "Waiting for application launch..." displayed on the screen. This indicates that the account has been successfully linked. At this point, return to the BRICKS Controller page and re-enter the [DEVICE] tab. You will find that your display device has been added to the list on the left side.
