How to Edit a Workout Name in the Builder

How to rename workouts in the Builder to improve clarity for athletes.

Written by Lauren Johnson

Clearly labeled workouts help athletes navigate their training with confidence. You can customize any workout name directly in the Builder in just a few steps.

How to Edit a Workout Name

  1. Open your program in the Builder

  2. Double-click the workout name you want to edit — by default, workouts are labeled "Day 1 - Week 1," and so on

  3. Type your new workout name

  4. Click away or press Enter to save the change

Bridge Tip: Choose names that reflect the session's focus so athletes immediately understand what to expect. Clear naming is especially valuable in Playlist Programs where athletes select their own workouts.

Examples of Effective Workout Names

Not sure where to start? Here are a few naming approaches that work well:

  • By training focus — "Total Body Strength," "Upper Body Power," "Speed & Agility"

  • By split day — "Lower Body," "Upper Body & Mobility," "Full Body Conditioning" — see How to Program Split Days for more detail

  • By session type — "Recovery & Mobility," "Game Day Activation," "Pre-Season Conditioning"

How It Looks On Mobile

Once saved, the workout names appear in the athlete's mobile app, making it easy to navigate and select the right session.
