When you import a training program using Import with AI, the system matches each exercise in your file or text against your full exercise library. If it can't find a confident match, those exercises appear on the Review Unmatched Exercises screen before the import finishes.
This article explains what each option on that screen does and when to use it.
What "Unmatched" Means
An unmatched exercise is one the AI couldn't confidently map to an existing entry in your library. This usually happens because the name in your file doesn't match the name in Bridge (e.g., your file says "Lateral Band Walk" but your library has "Mini Band β Straight Leg Walk (Knees)"), or because the exercise genuinely doesn't exist in your library yet.
The screen shows a count of how many exercises need attention (e.g., "2 exercises were not found in your library") and lists each one with three action buttons: Create, Replace, and Skip.
Your Three Options
1.Create
Adds a new exercise to your organization's library using the name from your imported file.
When to use it:
The exercise is genuinely new and you want it in your library going forward. For example, a custom drill you designed for a specific team, or a new movement variation you've started programming.
Exercises you create here are added to your organization's library. Double-check the spelling and naming before confirming, since duplicates will need to be cleaned up manually in the Exercise Library.
2. Replace
Maps the unmatched exercise to an existing exercise in your library. When you click Replace, a search field appears. Type a few keywords to find the right match, then select it from the dropdown.
The replacement exercise appears in a chip below the original name. The original name shows with strikethrough. Click the β on the chip to undo and try a different match.
When to use it:
The exercise already exists in your library under a different name. This is the most common scenario. For example, your file says "BB Bench" but your library has "Barbell Bench Press," or your file says "Tricep Dip Weighted" but your library calls it "Weighted Dip."
3. Skip
Omits the exercise from the imported phase entirely. It won't appear in the workout and won't be added to your library.
When to use it:
The exercise isn't relevant to this program, or you'd rather add it manually after reviewing the import. Skipping is also useful if your file included placeholder text or notes that the AI mistakenly identified as an exercise.
After Resolving All Exercises
Once you've chosen an action for every unmatched exercise, click Confirm and Create. The modal closes and your imported phase appears in the program with all resolved exercises in place.
The button always says "Confirm and Create" regardless of which actions you chose. If you only used Replace and Skip (no Create), the button label stays the same but no new exercises will be added to your library.
How to Reduce Unmatched Exercises
If you're getting a lot of unmatched exercises, these adjustments can help:
Add context instructions when uploading, describing your abbreviations and naming conventions (e.g., "BB = Barbell, DB = Dumbbell, RDL = Romanian Deadlift")
Use full exercise names in your source file when possible
Check that your exercise library is up to date with the movements you commonly program
