What are Tracked and Required Sets?

Tracked and Required sets are a useful tool for coaches to highlight specific sets of a workout. Instead of having to review every set that every athlete completes, you can bookmark certain sets and send the results to the Activity Report. You can also use required sets to update athlete test data.

Marking sets as tracked and required can make exporting athlete data from the activity report easier and more applicable to the exercises you are trying to monitor.

To mark sets as tracked or required, you will click on the drop-down menu to select the set type.

What are Tracked Sets?

Tracked sets are indicated with a blue dot next to the set and shown in the builder

Tracked sets appear similar to Worksets from an athlete's point of view. Coaches can quietly track their athlete's progress in the activity report. You can specify the set type as Tracked in the phase builder by clicking on the set type.

This set will appear normal to the athlete in the mobile and iPad applications and the results will flow into the Activity Report. You can condense your view to only show the Tracked sets by checking off "Tracked" and deselecting the other options at the top of the Activity Report Module.

What are Required Sets?

Required sets can also be thought of as "Test Sets". In performing a required set, an athlete is asked to enter a value for one of the parameters.

In this example, a 3-rep max is prescribed for a Barbell Back Squat. You can specify which parameter you are testing for by selecting the "Max" option below the parameter. We recommend clicking "Check 1RME" to make sure that the athlete(s) have test data saved for this parameter. This is also where you can edit or add the athlete's 1RME results.

As long as the athletes have 1RME data for the Barbell Back Squat, the weight will automatically populate in the app. To learn more about manually adding test data, click here.

Activity Report

The Activity Report can be found in three different areas on the web.

  1. The Homepage - An overview of all recorded sets and activity

  2. The Teampage - A complete list of team-level data

  3. Athlete profile page - A concise list of data for a single user.

Each of these pages will show a glimpse of the most recent activity report data. You can view the detailed results by clicking "See All".

This page is organized first by date and then by exercise within a team. Required sets are labeled with a red "R" and tracked sets with a blue "TR".

The test column is indicated by a red box around the value.

To update an athlete's 1RME in the system and to create a new test result, click the update button.

You will be asked to confirm that you'd like to update the 1RME value for the athlete. Note that if you would like to edit the new value, you can do so when you see the popup (we will round to the nearest lb). Confirm the update and the button will change to a green checkmark, signaling that the result has been updated and this is the up-to-date value.

Note: Whenever this exercise is prescribed using %1RM, the weight will pull from the updated 1RME number.
